"The Lavender Bee"

This watercolour painting depicts a fluffy bumble bee with black and yellow stripes busily perched on top of purple Lavender . The bee's wings are not fully extended, suggest it has just landed or is about to take off.

The lavender flowers are a beautiful blue-violet color, with some lighter highlights. Louise has used loose, expressive brushstrokes to create the lavender, capturing their delicate form. Several green stems and leaves are visible beneath the flowers, anchoring the composition.

In the background, washes of soft green and purple create a sense of depth and depict the surrounding foliage. The background is not highly detailed, keeping the focus on the bee and the lavender.

Overall, the painting creates a peaceful and harmonious scene, showcasing the beauty of nature and the busy life of a bumble bee.

Painted with watercolours on 300gsm textured watercolour paper (image itself 23x31cm).

Beautifully framed with a narrow silvering box moulding and matching soft mount. Outer size of the frame, roughly 34 x 42 cm.

Glazed with Art Glass. A superior anti reflective glass that filters up to 70% of UV rays.
